Paws with Claus and Giving Tree

Every year there are animals in shelters that are waiting for their forever home. These pets are going to spend the holidays in shelters, unlike your pets who are lucky enough to curl up under the Christmas tree and count their blessings. The shelters do a great job at providing the best medical care available for these pets and make them feel loved. But all of these shelters rely on donations.  Each year Stow Kent and Portage Animal Clinic try to help make these animals more comfortable over the holiday season. The community always comes through and donates hundreds of items every year. This year we are at it again… we are doing our annual Giving Tree and proceeds will be donated to the Portage Animal Protective League. With each item donated, families will receive an ornament to put their name on as a thank you for their generous donation. The Giving Tree will run from December 1st to December 20, 2013. Items can be dropped off at either of our locations.

We are also holding our annual Paws with Claus event. This will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Stow Kent Animal Hospital from 2-5pm. The event includes free photos with Santa, letters to Santa, goodies for your pets/children, crafts and refreshments will be provided. Though this is a free event we do collect items for the Giving Tree at this event and they will also be donated to PAPL.

Portage Animal Protective League wish list includes: dog/cat food (Purina, Iams), milk bones, non-scoop litter, paper towels, hand soap, dog/cat toys, dog beds, towels, blankets, and dog leashes/collars. New and gently used items will be accepted. If you’re unable to donate during the holiday season PAPL is always accepting donations at their facility.
